Q Cheer has competed for a third year running at the Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation’s Queensland Championships achieving with podium finishes in both Pom and Cheer.

A second placing in the Pom routine was pleasantly surprising after officials played the incorrect version of the music, missing two main sections.

Q Cheer’s Coach Shannon Moule felt the team covered the missing segments seamlessly and praised the team for soldiering on.

“If you hadn’t seen the routine before you wouldn’t have known that part was missing,” Moule said.

The Cheer routine earned the team third place and included one-legged stunts, basket tosses and an advanced pyramid where three flyers were flipped.

“That was the neatest routine. Those stunts were so solid,”an audience member said.

The team hopes to raise the level of their Cheer routing stunts for Nationals in November.

Members of Q Cheer also won individual competitions for Most Pirouettes, Best Jumping Combination and Highest Co-ed Basket Toss.

On the road to Nationals in Sydney, Q Cheer is hosting a party at the Port Office Hotel in the city on Saturday 5 September.

$10 entry will earn guests $5 drinks from 8 to 11pm, all welcome.
