Julian Casablancas… coming to Brisbane? Solo?
I know that everybody is currently caught up in the buzz of the Splendour lineup announcement. Myself included. And we all know (and are super-excited!) that the Strokes are headlining, but what seems to have slipped under the radar is that lead singer Julian Casablancas is doing a solo east coast tour starting in May.
Hitting Brisbane at the Tivoli on May 6, Casablancas is here after touring the US and Europe off the back of his new album, Phrases for the Young. And so far, it’s been a hit with first single 11th Dimension doing quite well in many international markets.
The album itself is a little different to classic Strokes, but with the unique, smooth sounds of Julian behind the mic, it’s bound to give you goosebumps. The pick-up of the beat also makes this album one that is very much dance-mixed-with-rock.
