New Music: Jezabels’ Easy To Love

Following up from the success of their first single Hurt Me, the Jezabels are continuing along a long, beat track of beautiful, wistful sounds, undying followers and ever-growing popularity with their new single Easy To Love. Winning the support role for Tegan and Sara’s current Australian tour is proof enough that this act is on the up and up, and it’s just the beginning.

Easy To Love is a fantastic track to pull up the rear of the Jezabels’ EP She’s So Hard (released November last year), and it takes it’s audiences back to another realm, with vocalist Hayley yearning for us to follow her down a dark, mysterious path. The sounds are remniscent of journeying, and travelling to faraway lands, and these sounds are obviously working for them. I’m looking forward to what’s next in store for the Jezabels.

The song is fantastically crafted, building to a tight crescendo which breaks into a mellowing, releasing bridge. It is songs like this that show the great songwriting and performance abilities of this band and their potential to go so much further, as shown in the capacities of their recent live shows.

This is certainly a band to keep an eye out for, and you should check out Easy To Love here.
