How cute! The Sunset Sounds Foster Band Initiative
It’s no secret that Brisbane is a breeding ground for some of our country’s most exciting musical talent. No one is better positioned to comment on the who’s who of these shining stars than the people on the ground in the city itself, sharing their streets and cafés! So why not call on the people who know best, to help us uncover some fresh local sounds to add to our festival line up!
Sunset Sounds has banded together with a bunch of Brisbane music’s most supportive media friends, to shine the light on local artists through the Sunset Sounds Foster Band Initiative.
Sunset Sounds Foster Band Initiative is a way to spotlight sizzling local bands that have been causing a stir in venues across the city in the past few years. Our very own Brisbane music fans will give these local bands the opportunity to score a slot on the Sunset Sounds line up along-side Interpol, Public Enemy, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Klaxons, The National and heaps more!
During the month of November, Brisbane press are generously opening their pages and fostering one local Brisbane act, featuring them, their talents and their story and giving them a big fat dose of the love and attention that they so deserve.
Readers will be given the chance to uncover their new favourite band and help secure them a paid spot on the Sunset Sounds line up by casting their vote via the Sunset Sounds website.
There are two spots up for grabs. Voting opens tomorrow (November 1st) and closes December 1st, with the two artists being announced on December 6th. Sunset Sounds are giving the power to the people. So go on Brisbane, get behind your local artists and get them on stage at Sunset Sounds 2011!
