Win! A Double Pass to Laneous and the Family Yah presents: The Pink Dove Warehouse Party
Laneous and The Family Yah have been cooking up something very special while preparing their 2nd EP for this year ‘Paper’ – an art-action warehouse experiment dubbed The Pink Dove show, being held on Friday July 15.
Inspired by the underground art party events and renegade shows prominent in NYC and Berlin, the Pink Dove show is a true extravaganza curated by L&TFY on their own turf and on their own terms. Exploding in the West End ‘Ice Cream Factory’ and loaded with spontaneous performances and booby traps, Pink Dove will fly for one night only across several stages. L&TFY have blackmailed their favourite underground bands, DJ’s, VJ’s, rappers, built an erotic/abstract peep-show for exhibitionists and voyeurs, initiated a series of…theatrical vignettes, and will be of course playing a mind altering set of their mutant soul for the masses.
L&TFY have smuggled an assortment of their favourite bands, MC’s, musical history lecturers and slam-poets for the occasion:
Pow Pow Wow – the spy/surf/genre-mashing love child of Ben Ely (Regurgitator) in their debut Brisbane performance.
IMO – (which really means potato in Japanese) – a radical J-Pop high-school rock’n'roll band with core Taste of Teeth members and fronted by famed avant-garde lunatic T.A.D.
Pastel Blaze – Four hot broads smashing out garage glitter punk.
Potato Masta – MPC, Junk Rap and Crappy DJ.
Giles Thurston Alesworth and the consort of players presents: ‘THE TRUE STORY OF’ the surprisingly curious yet somewhat fascinating world of pre-classical music – Giles Thurston Alesworth, along with his consortium of players, accomplished with rare and obscure instruments, deliver several short musical lectures which are a combination of performance art and illuminated period reenactments full of whimsy, drama and hilarity.
With Special Guest Appearances by:
Evil Eddie (from Butterfingers), Captain Dreamboat (from Chocolate Strings), Grim Tilla w/Kel On Earth and Dance Dance Annihilation.
To win the double pass, shoot us an email at kate@newsunlimited.com.au and tell us in 25 words or less about your best/worst/favourite party trick!
Entries close at midnight, Sunday July 10.
