Touring: Alpine
Melbourne six piece Alpine will take all 12 of their hands across the country on a headline tour this coming January in celebration of their new single called Hands. The track is the first cut from their forthcoming debut album due out on Ivy League in early 2012.
Featuring the dreamy vocals of Alpine’s tag-team front women Phoebe Baker and Lou James, Hands is an exercise in ethereal pop, luscious in tone and restrained in delivery. The track follows on from the band’s debut release the ZURICH EP which featured the singles ‘Villages’ and ‘Heartlove’ and had fans and critics alike clamouring for more from Alpine.
The otherworldly video for Hands was beautifully shot by Luci Schroder and features a lot of love for hands. They are very useful after all. Watch it below.
Fans of Alpine can also nab themselves an exclusive remix of Hands by hitting the band’s Facebook page. The remix comes courtesy of Sydney’s Toni Toni Lee, whose latest single ‘Girl I Used To Know’ is currently burning up stereos at home and abroad.
With their honeyed harmonies and sublime sounds, Alpine continually leave audiences in thrall. They’re set to do it all again when they head out for the Hands Across Australia tour next January. Also catch them over New Years Eve at Falls Festival in both Lorne and Marion Bay and in January at the Southbound festival in WA.
